The Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway has reached more than 99% completion, and the Ministry of Construction has directed all remaining construction and acceptance procedures to be completed so the entire route can open to traffic in September.
During an on-site inspection of several sections of the expressway on September 5, including Phuoc Khanh Bridge and the National Highway 51 interchange, Deputy Minister of Construction Pham Minh Ha urged the project owner and contractors to mobilize maximum manpower and equipment to finish the remaining work.
He also instructed the Vietnam Expressway Corporation (VEC) to complete all acceptance documentation so that the State Council for Construction Acceptance Inspection can carry out its final inspection in September, paving the way for the expressway to enter full operation.

According to VEC, the project is currently 99.3% complete. Most components have been finished, with only two packages remaining:

Package J3-1: Completion of the remaining works on Phuoc Khanh Bridge.

Package XL-NG51: Final construction of the National Highway 51 interchange.
Deputy Minister Pham Minh Ha also emphasized the need for continued structural monitoring of Binh Khanh Bridge and Phuoc Khanh Bridge, along with any necessary technical measures to ensure safety and full compliance with regulations before the project is accepted and opened to traffic.
The Ben Luc–Long Thanh Expressway is 57.8 km long. It begins at the Ho Chi Minh City–Trung Luong Expressway in Tay Ninh Province and ends at the National Highway 51 interchange in Dong Nai Province, approximately 16 km from Long Thanh International Airport.

It is designed with four traffic lanes, two emergency stopping lanes, and a design speed of 100 km/h.

Once fully completed, the expressway will provide a direct connection between the Mekong Delta, eastern Ho Chi Minh City, and Dong Nai without passing through the city center. It will also link the Ho Chi Minh City–Trung Luong Expressway, the Ho Chi Minh City–Long Thanh–Dau Giay Expressway, and National Highway 51, significantly reducing travel time from the Mekong Delta to Dong Nai, the former Ba Ria–Vung Tau area, and Long Thanh International Airport.
