The project focuses on developing a modern metro system for major cities in Vietnam, starting with Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi. The system utilizes Automatic Train Operation (ATO) technology, with a transportation capacity of up to 40,000 passengers per hour in each direction.
Six-car trains are designed with wide doors to improve passenger boarding and alighting efficiency, high-capacity air-conditioning systems suitable for tropical climates, and low-floor designs for improved accessibility. Underground stations are designed at optimized depths to reduce the risk of flooding during the rainy season and are equipped with modern drainage and ventilation systems.
The project comprises three main lines with a total length of 120 km, including 85 underground stations and 15 elevated stations, connecting central urban areas with surrounding suburbs.
Contactless electronic payment systems, mobile applications providing real-time schedule information, and integration with other modes of public transportation contribute to the development of a connected, efficient, and convenient urban transportation network.
